Earth Day or International Mother Earth Day according to the UN is celebrated every year since 1970 on the 22nd of April to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Usually there are events across the world, often coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network. Numerous communities carry out events and activities a whole week, Earth Day Week, focused on the environmental issues that the world faces. Take a look at the Animated History of Earth Day!
This year is the 50th Anniversary and amid the Covid-19 pandemic is celebrated digitally. Each year there is a theme to focus on and for Earth Day 2020 is “climate action”.
