We heard so much about the suffering of these people lately. To finally meet them in person was astonishing. For a few hours we entered into their world, communicated with them, heard about their problems, played with their children.

YMCA team was very organized and flexible while at the same time was ready to adapt to any circumstances.

The kids were very happy playing games and soccer, drawing and laughing with the volunteers. The adults danced and played music with a professor of music who was also in our group. We felt welcomed. I felt the impact that people with initiative and enthusiasm can have by offering some happiness in the grim world and the uncertainty of the refugees.

The hardest part for me was leaving them, going back to my safety net.

I will visit them again next week.
