“Perek” is a Greek pie, a delicacy of Greek refugees.

In the morning we started from YMCA premises headed to Perec estate in Monopigado. When we arrived there, Mrs. Mary, soul of the Folklore Museum and the owner of the estate, Greek refugee herself, welcomed us with open arms. After a short but very interesting folk museum tour, we headed into the estate.

There the children had the opportunity to play on the playground. Also there was space for football and a small farm with domesticated animals. In addition during the visit was given a shadow theatre show by Mr. Agapiou with great response in children and adults. Later with the help of an experienced educator they created space for crafts.

At noon we all sat in the estate restaurant where they offered complete meal to beneficiaries and of course everybody had the opportunity to taste the famous pie “Perec”. In the evening with hugs and greetings we said good bye to Mrs. Mary and returned at YMCA premises.
