Excursion to “Perek”

“Perek” is a Greek pie, a delicacy of Greek refugees. In the morning we started from YMCA premises headed to Perec estate in Monopigado. When we arrived there, Mrs. Mary, soul of the Folklore Museum and the owner of the estate, Greek refugee herself, welcomed us with open arms. Our team is visiting beneficiaries all last month, far from our YMCA premises. We are visiting Sykies and Evosmos (areas in Thessaloniki), in municipality premises and Philoxenia International (NGO) respectively. All the children are very happy every time that the see us, thank us in every opportunity and don’t miss any session. After two months in the RE.A.C.T program i would like to share my experience . Actually i would like to disseminate my satisfaction and happiness that I receive from the children’s reaction to the theatre lessons. In a few days, with the support of our translator Akram Elgof and my fellows Ismini Grigoriadou, Dimitris Chrysafis and Anna Argyri, we achieved to prepare small but interest theatrical performances based on the dramatization of kids songs.
