On October 19th took place the first “Intercultural Coffee”. The aim of the initiative is to create a space where the parents of children who come every afternoon to YMCA as part of the REACT program and members of the Refugee Committee, can come closer.

When new immigrants arrive, differences in language, culture or life experience make it difficult to know each other. This is why YMCA is committed to build spaces for these relationships to emerge within a climate of absolute trust and respect. To facilitate the dialogue, we had two interpreters.

In the first meeting we gathered people from Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Spain, Palestine and Greece. The meeting took place in a very positive and at the same time personal atmosphere. It is an initiative that will undoubtedly continue.
