The 20th of November is the day that each year since 1954 we celebrate the Universal Children’s Day. A day that United Nations establish to promote international togetherness, awareness among children worldwide, and improving children’s welfare. A day that commemorates the Declaration of the Rights of the Child (1959) and the Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989) adopted by the UN General Assembly.
At DIA-drasis we respect child rights and we try to create a child friendly and safe space to let young children express themselves and provide quality learning experiences. Today, at our Early Childhood Education & Care program for refugees, teachers seized the opportunity to introduce the concept of children’s rights to preschoolers! It was a rather challenging effort but totally worth it!
