Sometimes a photograph gets through your skin. There are images that we all have engraved on our retina.
This week we have seen some photos that I think we cannot easily forget. Because they put a face to the tragedy of immigration. Because they humanize a phenomenon that many times we prefer to treat in a general way. It is not easy to look inequality in the eyes, and continue to pretend nothing is wrong.
From the YMCA, from our ILC HELIOS program, we try to fight so that all these people who have been forced to flee their homes on a hellish journey, have a decent place in our society.
