The HELIOS+ Center of the YMCA Thessaloniki is a dynamic hub of activities and services aimed at supporting the integration of third-country nationals and enhancing social cohesion.

Since February 2025, the center has been fully operational and offers a wide range of activities and interventions designed to inform, empower, and engage both beneficiaries of international or temporary protection and local authorities and stakeholders.

The core activities include:

  • Events to inform, empower, and raise awareness among local authorities and services

  • Organization of focused sessions on the legal framework for integration, rights, and obligations of third-country nationals

  • Workshops and interactive discussions aimed at fostering understanding and exchanging perspectives

  • Roundtable dialogues with the participation of community representatives and stakeholders

  • Awareness-raising conferences or forums on the socioeconomic benefits of integration

  • Social cohesion activities to promote active participation in social and cultural life

  • Creative and recreational activities for skill development of participants

  • Cultural events and performances that encourage expression and participation

  • Group discussions and interviews with beneficiaries and local community members about social and economic rights, with an emphasis on education, health, and daily living

The HELIOS+ Center of the YMCA Thessaloniki is an open, inclusive, and active environment that promotes interaction and cooperation among different communities, for the benefit of a united and resilient society.

Helios+ Project is co-financed by the European Social Fund+ (ESF+) under the Regional Programs (RP) for 2021–2027 and is fully aligned with Greece’s National Strategy for Integration.
