Since 2016, YMCA Thessaloniki has implemented several refugee programs. Funded by different agencies and targeting different population groups, our programs support people arriving from all corners of the world.

We are committed to this work because we believe that everyone has the right to live a life in peace and to provide their families with a dignified life. Absolutely no one will convince us that we should not offer this second chance to people of all kinds who are suffering harshly from the effects of war, violence, poverty, racism or climate change.

It is not always easy, and there are many obstacles that we face at this moment in history, but we want to keep working on what we believe in.

In these days when we celebrate International Refugee Day, days of reflection and taking stock, we received a message on our phone that gives meaning to everything we do. It is the message from the mother of a girl who went through one of our child support programs.
